Overview

Domestic Vehicle Transport in Japan

Used vehicle export from Japan begins with movement on the ground: vehicles purchased at auction need to be collected, moved to a yard for inspection and preparation, sometimes repositioned between yards for scheduling, and at times transferred between auction houses for re-listing. Each leg has its own timing requirements and operational considerations.

M3LOGI operates domestic land transport built around this chain. Our drivers and partner-carrier network cover the major Japanese auction houses and yard locations, with regular vehicle movements between them.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can a vehicle be picked up from auction?

For major auctions in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, and Hakata, dispatch is typically same-day or next-morning following purchase confirmation. Smaller and regional auctions generally require one to two business days.

Is auction-house paperwork handled at pickup?

Yes. M3LOGI drivers complete the auction-house release paperwork, collect the vehicle key set, and document the vehicle's condition with photographs before departing the auction yard.

Is the vehicle insured during transit?

Yes. Vehicles moved by M3LOGI or our partner carriers are covered under transit insurance from collection at the auction or yard through to signed handover at the destination.

Can non-running vehicles be transported?

Yes. Flat-bed trucks are used for non-running vehicles, accident-damaged units, classics, and project vehicles. Please indicate the condition at booking so the appropriate equipment is dispatched.

Is interim storage available between auction collection and the next stage?

Yes. Vehicles can be staged at an M3LOGI yard between auction collection and the next operational step — whether that is inspection, re-listing at another auction, or consolidation. See Yard Services for storage options and rates.

How is land transport priced?

Per vehicle, per route. Rates depend on pickup location, destination, vehicle size, and whether the vehicle is running. Multi-vehicle pickups are eligible for volume discounts. Itemized quotations are issued at booking.
